Swachh Bharat Mission - Cleanliness drive at ICAR-CIRCOT

As part of the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission, a cleanliness programme was organized by Chemical and Biochemical Processing Division (CBPD) on 16.09.2017. During the cleanliness drive in Chemical Processing Section of CBPD the working tables were cleaned and chemical bottles were arranged in order. Samples leftover after completion of  testing were removed and disposed properly. The unwanted materials like empty chemical bottles, boxes and broken glassware were stored properly for disposal. All the staff members of CBPD were participated actively and enthusiastically in the cleaning programme.

ICAR-CIRCOT organized cleanliness drive in the Institute premises

Complying with the goals of Swachh Bharat Mission and the instructions received from the Council a cleanliness drive was arranged in the CIRCOT, Mumbai premises, on 15th September, 2017 from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. Waste and unused materials were segregated and stored for proper disposal. The work was done by forming a human chain of staff members. All the staff members of ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai enthusiastically participated in the cleaning programme.

Cleanliness drive by Quality Evaluation and Improvement Division (QEID)

A cleanliness programme was organized by Quality Evaluation and Improvement Division (QEID) of the institute on 29.07.2017 from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
The waste cotton sample remaining from the test samples was removed from the test sample bags kept in the store room. These samples were collected, cleaned, staged in the gunny bags and stored properly for disposal through auctioning.
All the staff members of QEID participated enthusiastically in the cleaning programme.

Cleanliness Programme by Chemical and Biochemical Processing Division (CBPD) of ICAR-CIRCOT

A cleanliness programme was organized by Chemical and Biochemical Processing Division (CBPD) in the Biochemical Processing Section of the institute on 14.07.2017 from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Chemical bottles were cleaned and arranged properly. The various samples left out after testing and were previously kept in cupboards were removed and disposed properly. The machineries were cleaned and appropriate labels were put on them. The unwanted materials like empty chemical bottles and broken glass wears were stored properly for further disposal. All the staff members of CBPD and research students participated actively and enthusiastically in the cleaning programme.

Cleanliness drive in Yaswant Rao Chavan building

A cleanliness programme has been organized at the institute on 13.01.2017 at Room No. 20 of Yaswant Rao Chavan building. The room was cleaned by the staff members of Chemical and Biochemical Processing division by removing the unwanted materials, condemned equipment, old carton boxes etc.

Swachh Bharat programme On October 2

on October 2, 2016 to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, Swachh Bharat programme was organised at the institute to remove old files, newspapers and broken materials from Technical Information Section and from the basement of Dr. V. Sundaram Building.

Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Pakhwara during May 16-30, 2016.

In this continuation Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Pakhwara (Clean India Campaign Fortnight) was celebrated in the Institute during May 16-30, 2016. On the first day, Dr. (Smt.) Sujata Saxena, Director In-Charge administered the oath to all the staff to maintain cleanliness of their working places and residential premises. A series of events were organized during the fortnight for generating awareness about the programe. A special lecture (on 24th May 2016) on “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Nagariko ki Jimmedari” was arranged on by Shri. Jayanta Joshi, Manager Glasco Fermentation, Thane. The importance of cleanliness and the waste disposal techniques for in house composting at domestic level was demonstrated. An essay competition on “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” was conducted on 25th May 2016 in which CIRCOT staff participated enthusiastically.

A drama on the state of cleanliness affairs in Mumbai city was staged by professional “Rangkarmi” group for creating awareness among the CIRCOT staff members. After the drama, three lectures were also arranged to create the awareness about cleanliness in the Institute. The speakers included prominent personality of Matunga, Corporator Smt. Naina Seth, Mr. Tanaji Ghagh of BMC and Mr. Vikram Vaid. Dr. P.G. Patil, Director CIRCOT, welcomed the guests and delivered the introductory remarks about Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Pakhwara. All the three speakers highlighted about the importance of segregation of the waste for its easy recycling and composting to make India a clean country. On the concluding day, Smt. Kiran Joshi, Hindi Officer of the Institute delivered a talk on “Paryavaran Ka Santulan” and programme ended with prizes distributed to winners of essay competition by the Director.
