ICAR-CIRCOT’s signature training programme on nanotechnology, thirteenth in the series, was inaugurated on 24th September 2018. This five day training programme is designed to acquaint participants with the recent advances in nanotechnology, to impart hands-on training on synthesis & characterization of nanomaterials and to demonstrate the application of nanomaterials in textiles, composites, filtration, sensors and agriculture & allied sectors. Fourteen participants enrolled for this training programme include Professors, Scientists and Research Scholars having diversified educational backgrounds like Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, Botany, Paper technology and Chemical Technology. Speaking on the inaugural session, Dr. N. Vigneshwaran, Principal Scientist & Course Coordinator briefed the participants about the expertise of ICAR-CIRCOT in the field of nanotechnology and its application in textiles & composites. Dr. P.S. Deshmukh, Senior Scientist & In-charge of Training elaborated the various aspects of training programme being organized by ICAR-CIRCOT supplementing the skill development programme of Govt of India. Dr. A.S.M. Raja, Principal Scientist explained the nanotechnology interventions being done by ICAR-CIRCOT in improving the performance of cotton textiles and effluent treatment. Dr. Sujata Saxena, Director In-charge appreciated the efforts of the coordinating team in arranging the training programme and briefed the participants about the overall research and development activities done at the Institute.
