A self- financed three days training programme on Spectroscopic and Chromatographic Techniques for Material Characterization was organized at ICAR- CIRCOT during 27-29 November, 2018. Fourteen trainees comprising of academicians, researchers and students from the SAUs and research institutes participated in it. Participants were apprised of the various spectroscopic and chromatography techniques such as UV- visible spectroscopy, FTIR, AAS, XRF, EDXRF , XPS, TLC, HPTLC, HPLC, GC & GC-MS for characterizing textiles and other materials through lectures, demonstrations and hands on experiments on these instrumental analytical techniques. Principles of these techniques and the basic science behind these were explained to the participants. Dr. Sujata Saxena, Principal scientist & Head I/c, CBPD coordinated this training programme. The Training concluded in the afternoon of 29th Nov, 2018 with collection of feedback from trainees and distribution of participation certificates to them by the Director Dr. P.G. Patil during the valedictory session. Participants found this training very informative and useful in their research work and appreciated the efforts of the institute in guiding academicians and researchers in these advanced techniques.
