A multi-disciplinary team of scientists of the institute has developed a paper pulp technology for preparation of high quality currency grade paper from cotton. The technologyhas been developed in line with Prime Ministers “Make in India “programme as our country has to import the pulp for producing the paper. The paper produced by this technology can be used for producing high quality currency grade papers with double the durability of the notes currently being produced. The paper produced by the institute was tested by Security Paper Mill, GOI. It is proud moment for the institute as the above technology has been released during ICAR’s Foundation day ceremony on 16th July 2017 at NASC complex, New Delhi by the Honorable Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Minister Sh.
