ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai Celebrated the World Water Day

ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai celebrated the World Water Day on 22nd March, 2021 in a big way. First, Director and many staff members attended ICAR’s Celebration of World Water Day on 22nd March 2021 at 10:00 a.m. organized on virtual platform to create awareness about the importance of water in life and agriculture in particular. They listened to the address by Shri. Parshottam Rupala, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and a lecture by Dr. Mark Smith, Director General, International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

Two events were also organized at the institute level on this occasion; A Virtual presentation on the theme of this year’s celebration i.e. “Valuing Water”. The presentation was delivered by Dr. S. K. Jena, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneshwar. About 60 staff members attended the programme in online and offline modes. Along with staff members, 12 incubatees of CIRCOT-R-ABI also attended this lecture.

A Drawing Competition for children of the staff members was also organized on this occasion. Total 29 children participated in the drawing competition held in two categories. There were four winners in each category and prizes to the winners and the participation certificates were distributed by the Dr. Sujata Saxena, Director (Acting) during the event.
