ICAR-CIRCOT organized the Training Programme on “Formation of Textile Structures and Advanced Material Characterization” during January 5-7, 2021.

To impart advanced skills to the Scientific and Technical staff of the institute, ICAR-CIRCOT organized a three day training programme on ‘Formation of  Textile Structures and Advanced Material Characterization’ during 5-7 January 2021 on Hybrid mode (both online and offline, following necessary COVID management protocols). The training programme was attended by eleven officials from Head Quarters and five officials from Ginning Training Centre, Nagpur and five officials from Quality evaluation units (Sirsa, Surat, Guntur and Coimbatore).

In his inaugural address Dr. P. G. Patil, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, highlighted the necessity for continuous learning to enhance the technical knowledge of the scientific and technical staff to stay relevant in the fast changing current scenario of Science and Technology. He also welcomed the resource person, Mr Muntazir Ahamed, Former Head, MPD, ICAR-CIRCOT and inaugurated the training programme. He congratulated Dr. T. Senthilkumar, Scientist & HRD Nodal officer of the Institute who designed and implemented this training programme. The training course covered the aspects of basics and advances of yarn manufacturing, Knit fabric formation, Characterization of Textiles and Polymers, Guidelines to prepare research articles and use of Mendeley for reference and citations, Innovations & research scope to sustainable approach and Online demonstration of sophisticated instruments such as scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscope and BET surface area analyser. Mr Muntazir Ahamed, Dr.P.K.Parlikar, Former Head TTD ICAR-CIRCOT, Dr. M. Murugesan, Assistant Processor, Dr. V. R.Giri Dev, Professor & Head, Department of Textile Technology, Anna University Chennai, Dr. C. Prakash, Director, Indian Institute for Handloom Technology, Fulia, West Bengal and Dr.Vijai Gotmare, Former Head, Department of Textile manufacture, VJTI, Mumbai were invited as resource persons for the training programme.
